About Us

Power of Humans is a mission-driven, non-profit organization and the unified home of three transformative programs: Camp Hometown Heroes, Camp Reunite and Kids2Kids Toy Drive - each created to uplift children and families navigating adversity.

Rooted in trauma-informed care and strengthened by a community of compassionate supporters, we create pathways to emotional wellness, connection and renewed hope for children experiencing loss, family separation, poverty or instability.

We meet each child where they are, honoring their lived experiences with empathy, structure and support. Whether helping a child process the death of a military parent, reconnecting families impacted by incarceration or delivering joy and dignity to families in need, our programs embrace the whole child, emotionally, socially and relationally.

Across every program, our purpose remains consistent: to create spaces where children feel safe, supported and empowered.

Our Core Pillars of Impact

Healing

Hope

We restore belief in brighter days ahead. Through compassionate mentorship, healing-centered programming and joyful experiences, children rediscover a sense of possibility and renewed confidence in their futures.

Healing

Healing

We provide trauma-informed tools, environments and support systems that nurture emotional well-being. Children develop coping strategies, emotional expression skills and opportunities to process their experiences in safe, guided spaces.

Family

Family

We strengthen relationships, bonds and support networks, from reconnecting families separated by incarceration to creating spaces where grieving siblings can process loss together. We believe that every child deserves a connection and a sense of belonging.

Community

Community

We unite people in meaningful acts of compassion and generosity. Whether through volunteerism, community partnerships or large-scale initiatives like the Kids2Kids Toy Drive, we bring people together to uplift one another.

Our Approach: The Power of Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-informed care is the foundation of Power of Humans. Guided by mental-wellness professionals trained in child development, resiliency and crisis support, our programs are intentionally designed to:

  • Prioritize emotional and physical safety
  • Build trust and predictability
  • Encourage healthy expression and relationship-building
  • Support children facing grief, instability or loss
  • Foster resilience in age-appropriate, evidence-based ways

This approach ensures that every child feels seen, validated and supported, not just during our programs but as they return to their families, schools and communities.
